Bhairabkund Bridge

Project Overview

Bhairabkund Bridge is a PSC box girder bridge located in Arunachal Pradesh with a span arrangement of 30 + 50 + 30 m. The bridge is supported on circular piers with well foundations. Substructure foundations required well sinking through the riverbed in challenging terrain typical of the eastern Himalayas.

Construction

Superstructure was cast on staging erected from the riverbed. Pier caps were constructed using formwork supported on scaffolding around the circular piers. The remote location and hilly terrain required careful planning for movement of materials and equipment to site.
